Keahn is a generalist with over 8 years’ experience in government and private legal practice.
He has instructed in the High Court of Australia and the Court of Appeal (WA), and appeared as lead or junior counsel in the Federal and Supreme Courts and most other State courts and tribunals.
Keahn is available to take on briefs in most areas of law. His CV can be provided on request. He is open to direct briefs.
In 2017 and 2018, he was the Professional Assistant to the State Solicitor (Paul D Evans and then Nicholas Egan, as his Honour then was) and the State Counsel for Western Australia (George Tannin SC).
He then graduated in 2018 from the University of Western Australia with a Juris Doctor.
He was a solicitor for over 5 years with the State Solicitor’s Office, where he
was counsel in many matters across most areas of law including criminal, civil, employment, child protection and coronials;
appeared both unled and led at the Perth Casino Royal Commission, acting for the Department regulating the Perth Casino; and
advised Ministers of State and Directors-General on many sensitive matters and acted on several multi billion dollar projects including Perth Children’s Hospital and Metronet.
In 2024-25, he was a commercial litigation solicitor at the international firm Holman Fenwick Willan, where he had a mining, corporations and insolvency focus. He acted on several $100 million plus disputes for resources companies, including a matter with a taxation focus. He has experience with litigation funding from this role.
Keahn has for the last few years tutored several units at the University of Western Australia law school, including administrative law and property law.
